3 Tips for Your New Year Resolutions

Lose weight, eat less junk food, reduce sugar intake – it can be daunting when these Resolutions lists are as long as Boxing Day shopping lists. Here are 3 resolutions and tips we have exclusively picked. If you set your mind on these specific goals, Resolutions might be more attainable than you think!

 

#1 Find a physical activity that you enjoy and stick to it

As a child, did you enjoy a particular physical activity, such as rollerblading or gymnastic? Consider giving that activity a go this new year.

Enjoyment is the key to sticking to an exercise plan. If your workout makes you feel clumsy or inept, you’re most likely not going to stick with it. For example, don’t choose running or lifting weights at the gym just because you think that’s what you should do. Instead, pick activities that fit your lifestyle, abilities, and interest.

Once you have picked an activity that you enjoy, hold your self accountable for it. Be it to find a partner, keep a log or reward yourself once in a while.

 

#2 Paleo Diet – Avoid Processed Food

Eating processed food can lead to eating more than the recommended amounts of sugar, salt and fat.

The paleo diet avoids all processed food and comprises only of foods that can be hunted and gathered. This diet typically includes lean meats, fish, fruits, non-starchy vegetables, nuts and seeds, and no grains or legumes.

If you’re looking into a new year of natural foods and natural fats, stick to the paleo diet!

 

#3 Ketogenic Diet – High Fat, Low-Carb Diet

The ketogenic, or keto, diet calls for eating mostly fat, some protein and very little carbs. Because your body starts burning fat for fuel instead of carbs, the keto diet can be quite efficient in weight-loss resolutions.

To stick to the keto diet, choose fat-rich products like nuts, seeds, avocados, oily fish, olive oil and butter.

Combine these diets, or search for your own suitable diet.
